Public Petitions Committee Knife Debate

E-mail Print PDF

I'm gutted!

I was invited to the Public Petitions Knife Debate at the Scottish Parliament on Friday 23rd of Jan. Unfortunately I couldn't make it, as on the Thursday I was struck down with a nightmare sickness bug & was in a hell of a state. I thought that they probably wouldn't appreciate the sound of me being violently sick all over the parliament floor drowning out the speakers.

I don't feel too bad, as Kenny MacAskill didn't make it either!

He decided that it was more important to shovel haggis in his mouth in Canada. Now, where I can understand a like for haggis; I'm rather partial to it myself. I think that his priorities in this instance may have been somewhat mixed up.

Maybe I'm just jealous that whilst I was being violently sick, he was enjoying a burns supper!

In all seriousness though, I think with all the very public announcements he has made about knife crime he really should have made an effort to be there due to his position as Justice Minister.

Never mind, barring nasty 'bugs' I'll be in parliament next week for a meeting with some folks who have similar ideas to me!
